I have been drumming since I was 9 and began by playing orchestral percussion and drum kit when at school. Drumming then became my hobby while I pursued a career as a Production Manager for television documentaries. In 1995 after attending an African drumming workshop I vowed that one day I would make the trip to Africa to study this music. In 1997 I spent 6 months travelling in Guinea, Gambia and Senegal studying with a number of Master Drummers. On my return my primary aim was to get as many people as possible drumming in as many situations and organisations as I could. Since then I have facilitated a broad range of sessions and on-going classes in businesses, schools, prisons, refugee centres and colleges. My interest lies in using African drumming both as a therapeutic tool and a model for people working together.

I am the Corporate and Community Director of Sewa Beats based in Geneva and an NLP Master Practitioner, having studied with Sue. My workshops combine a deep musical knowledge with operational understanding. My own musical training with African Drum Masters continues in both Europe and Africa – most recently in Burkina Faso and Senegal.
