Hi, i've been attending my local health centre for around 5 months and i have been doing 3 days of weight training and 2 days of aerobic training. I am seeing improvements and i am completely happy with this however i am not sure how many calories i should be eating per day. At the begining of the week i seem to do around 3 sets of 12 reps on most machines however by the end of the week this is decreased to around 3 sets of 8 reps. At first i thought well obviously i need to eat more calories to maintain my energy levels, however when doing this i noticed i was becoming not fatter but bloated, as in there was no increase in fat around my stomach but it seemed to be bloated and bigger. Can you help to explain why and also recommend a daily allowance of calories considering the exercise i do. I currently weigh 9 stones (57 kg)and i am aged 16. Thankyou |

Hi there Robert, thank you for your mail although I am a bit puzzled as to why you have sent it to me. I am flattered that you think that I m ight be a fitness speicalist (I do try to keep fit but would not class myself an expert in this field). However I do have a fitness (well cycling) coach and this is very much his area so I will forward you rmail to him and ask him to respond to you directly if he feels that he can help. I will also copy to some of my training colleauges to see if they know of anyone who can advise you. Sincerely, |

Hi, I'm really sorry about wasting your time with my e-mail, the reason i sent it to you was becuase i typed 'questions and answers on fitness' on a search engine and your website came up so i just assumed it was relative to what i was interested in. However i appreciate the fact that you have gone further to help with this issue, thankyou. Robert |

Not at all you would not believe some of the questions that I get asked! I do have a great coach who I am sure would be able to help and his name is Rick Kiddle and you can get him through this website and say that Sue Spencer suggested that you make contact. That is my married name. Sincerely, |
