NLP Intensive

Master Practitioner in France

Joanne Hart

I had a fabulous week on the course. Everything was as good and better that I had hoped for.

The other people on the course were great company, I spent more time with them during the course and in the evenings that I would usually do at work or socially so I know that I enjoyed their company as I am now missing them all! Being able to spend time with people in the evenings and on walks really enhanced the experience for me.

I hoped there would be some beautiful countryside, and there was. There are beautiful views from the house and from my B&B, I really enjoyed being able to work outside.

The food exceeded my expectations, and I really thank Spence for catering to my ‘dietary’ needs. I know it can be a challenge to work out what to cook. I now have high expectations when I go anywhere else that has to cater for me!

Your Learnings

I’ve learnt that my emotions are to be celebrated and I accept them as a gift. Since returning to work I’ve felt much stronger to make decisions based on feeling, without the need to justify them. The ‘chatter’ in my mind has quietened down and I’m feeling excited about listening to my feelings.

’Life is an adventure’ and ‘I’m choosing to take my time’, whilst ‘Going with the flow’. These words appear in my mind at very appropriate times and make me smile.

I’ve learnt that I can make a connection with anyone that I choose to. On day one of the course I noticed the differences in other attendees and wondered: Will I fit in? Will I like them? Will they like me? What are they thinking? What do they do? and many other questions. At the end of the week I knew that I can make that connection with anyone. Everyone has something that I can connect with.

I’ve learnt that I can already teach yoga, and anything else that I learn in my yoga course is a bonus, so any feedback I get when I do my teaching practices will be welcomed. Before the NLP course I had a bit of doubt about my ability to teach yoga as I haven’t got my own yoga class to practice with, now I feel very confident about teaching.

I learnt how to give feedback, how to accept it and how to get the best out of feedback by asking some questions.

and lots more… still learning J

Our Home in France

I loved it, I felt at home and I know that this helped me to relax. It was good having the kitchen in the room and I liked hearing the noises from the kitchen.

The view outside is lovely and as I said before I really liked being able to go outside to look at the views and listen to the birds. It was good to have access to the library too, I really like books and found it interesting seeing what was on the shelves.

Our Organisation

Was good, I liked being given advice on the flights and B&B to be booked and then being picked up from the airport. Having met Sue on the Introduction NLP course I had trusted that everything would be organised well and was very happy. I’d looked on the website and seen a picture of the house and I’d seen the B&B on the web, so had these pictures in my mind before I traveled. I liked the fact that after I’d got the first email about the flights etc. there wasn’t a lot of communication, it made it exciting not knowing all the information and was a nice change from work.

I also liked getting the emails about the wheat free food, I liked the personal touch and felt very reassured that I’d be getting food that I wanted to eat.

I liked going to the market and I remember two key things from there, one was to have a drink at the beginning of a shopping trip, rather than doing it when I’m tired which is usually the way. The second thing I learnt is that its ok to say ‘I’ve changed my mind’, without any justification. Sue said this when we met at a different café to the planned one and it really ‘stuck’ with me.

Sue

When I think of Sue I see her with a lovely big genuine smile, and I’m now often thinking ‘what would Sue say or do in this situation’ and seeing this picture. Sue was very skilled, she really helped me to be myself and to learn lots. I loved the way she changed her style and voice tone to meet individual needs. The course was very flexible. I liked the fact that there was structure when topics were introduced and then flexibility to practice in our own time. I can’t remember feeling rushed at any point, and I can’t remember feeling that I needed something else to do. Therefore Sue ran the course at the pace that suited me and she was very skilled in adapting to what was needed each day.

Colin

Spence was great to chat to, I loved his enthusiasm and his energy positively infected me. I found myself describing him ‘as someone who lifts my spirits’. I really liked having someone to chat to that wasn’t involved in the course at the quite the same depth as everyone else. When he did join the group it was great, the modeling exercise was great fun and I really valued the feedback that I got after this as it gave me a lot of confidence. It was also lovely having Spence at the presentations on the last day, hearing his feedback on each person.

Anything Else…

Thanks for a fabulous week and for inviting me to your lovely house.
