The Programme Setting
“Weather is a metaphor for life” especially here in the Australian outback
The dark brooding clouds that portend change and how we embrace that, the air often electric before the storm, often apprehensive in ourselves in a similar edgy way as the end of an epoch approaches and prepares to roll over. The rain, especially in the Australia Outback is such a joyous time and cleansing in its very nature; strafing the air clean and laying the dust. And how too it can sometimes be too much and we can be swamped by it, quite literally in floods. The sun is often too hot here and 'ideal' sunny periods can be quite transient; often remembered in nostalgic glimpses of perfection, particularly at dawn and dusk.

And the “wilderness” is a metaphor for the human journey and if you agree to come you have the opportunity to quite literally find your own way with our guidance.
And the environment—there are rough-hewn picnic tables and chairs at a couple of places dotted around the beautiful landscape. There is one particular place called Murphy's Plateau—it is high with heroic views northeast, literally towards the dawn and the sun, enlightenment in itself and a wonderful vista to parallel the awakening of a new dawn in your perception of self.
“Walking across a landscape” is a significant metaphor for life: striking out in the darkness of pre-dawn, walking strongly up along a ridgeline, down across a pass and then up another ridgeline to arrive at a clearing to a boiling billy for a welcome cup of tea and then to have breakfast as the sun comes up. We believe that these and the many more memorable experiences we expect you to have will be with you for many years.
