I am passionate about people, and I view life lived well as art. I love to see a person, to truly get who they are, and help them fulfill who they’ve been created to be. Benedicte, my wife, and I live this lifestyle daily with each other, family and friends, and those we work with. The professional expression of this passion involves working with executive leadership—anyone who carries significant responsibilities affecting other people—in a variety of organizational settings.

With my natural inclination, life experience, and training, I found NLP a perfect match. Its emphasis on the structure of subjective experience captured my imagination. Combining this fascination with my adventuresome and pioneering nature, it was not a big step to move to Europe as the first certified NLP trainer to live and work here. During this time I was privileged to co-found the first NLP training institute in Europe, and train and mentor many of the original NLP trainers.

Our adventuresome side led Benedicte and me to take a sabbatical in Hawaii at the University of the Nations-Kona. We got hooked, and remained there for ten years where I had the opportunity to lead a major organizational transformation process as Vice-Chancellor of Operations.

Next came Silicon Valley. Initially, I worked as a consultant and most recently as co-founder and VP of Organisational Development at Genomic Health, Inc. We are a bio-tech and have produced a breakthrough, breast cancer diagnostic test. From start-up to first product launch, I have been instrumental in “building a great company, phase one.” There is obviously much more to be done.

I have worked with Sue for over ten years and am a Fellow of her consultancy. I regularly return to the UK to work, see friends, and enjoy the countryside.

While living in Oxford, I completed my PhD on the role of the chief executive in organisational transformation.
